Bit of history first, I have been driving my rebuilt 110 CSW around for 750 miles or so (this was a full rebuild/restoration), as a part of the rebuild the engine was exchanged for a Turner Engineering short block 300Tdi with a performance head, all new ancillaries were fitted (including a Genuine LR Lift-Pump), the injection Reconnect the stepper motor plug. Switch the ignition on - DO NOT START THE VEHICLE. Disconnect the stepper motor plug. Start the vehicle in neutral without touching the accelerator. Adjust the base idle speed with a 3/16" Hex wrench to 550 to 650 RPM by turning the base idle screw. Turning counter clockwise will raise the speed and vice versa. After having cold starting problems for a while I've just changed the lift pump and the glow plugs and for a few glorious weeks the landy has been starting first time every time. Started up the 300tdi this morning and got about 1/2 mile away from the house. Sitting at a stop sign at idle, the engine suddenly got louder and ran rough. I turned around immediately and started heading back home when the engine started losing a lot of power and I had to keep a much higher RPM for the car not to stall out.
