When it went it seemed all of a sudden maybe a little Smokey for a month before, neighbour commented it was a little noisy then on the motorway it went completely and started hammering and
Defender_300Tdi. Bit of history first, I have been driving my rebuilt 110 CSW around for 750 miles or so (this was a full rebuild/restoration), as a part of the rebuild the engine was exchanged for a Turner Engineering short block 300Tdi with a performance head, all new ancillaries were fitted (including a Genuine LR Lift-Pump), the injection
Reconnect the stepper motor plug. Switch the ignition on - DO NOT START THE VEHICLE. Disconnect the stepper motor plug. Start the vehicle in neutral without touching the accelerator. Adjust the base idle speed with a 3/16" Hex wrench to 550 to 650 RPM by turning the base idle screw. Turning counter clockwise will raise the speed and vice versa.
Hi Guys I know this isnt a rare problem but just looking for some clarity. I have a 98 300tdi disco 1 auto with EDC. After having cold starting problems for a while I've just changed the lift pump and the glow plugs and for a few glorious weeks the landy has been starting first time every time.
Started up the 300tdi this morning and got about 1/2 mile away from the house. Sitting at a stop sign at idle, the engine suddenly got louder and ran rough. I turned around immediately and started heading back home when the engine started losing a lot of power and I had to keep a much higher RPM for the car not to stall out.
Home > My Land Rover Blog > Changing all the seals in a leaking Bosch VE 300Tdi fuel injection pump LR Workshop may receive compensation for any purchase made on eBay after clicking the links below. It's quite common for the Bosch VE fuel injection pump to leak from the throttle spindle on a 300Tdi (or leak from any other seal for that matter).
Reground Three Main Bearing Petrol Journal. This is a key step of our engine rebuild process. Note the blended oil gallery and radius. This is the finished article, ready for assembly with the same surface finish and life expectancy as a new component. Turner Engineering provide a full range of main bearings suitable for Land Rover Series 2/2a
The interior upgrades are well worth it in the Puma. Now comes my question, I have a friend with a busted 2009 Defender 130 Puma 2.4 that needs a brand new engine. Thats all. He's willing to let it go for a steal as he wants to travel. I have a 300TDi engine hanging around and want to get your opinion on its feasibility or not.
the cooling system, follow the procedures. carefully. NOTE: Refill procedure is slow but can be. accelerated by squeezing hoses to assist. removal of air from the system. 4. Add correct mix of coolant into expansion tank. until radiator is full (as seen through plug hole on. top of radiator).
adjustable spanner. hammer (of course) angle grinder (in my case) a sharp knife. Slacken the 3 bolts holding the pulley to the power steering pump and water pump (you need both). Do this now to save you refitting the serpentine. Then use the adjustable spanner to take the tension off the belt and remove that too.
